15 Day Challenge: Day 15

Pictures of my dream house

This is Sarah Richardson's Farmhouse.  She renovated this old farmhouse on 50 acres with an apple orchard in Season 3 of Sarah's House.  I love her work and if I was super rich I would have her decorate my house.

If you go to this website:
And click on view images in the Finale box it will take you to all the pictures of the house.
On the left hand side you can chose which room and a photo gallery will come up.
I love everything about this house.
She is one lucky girl.
This is actually her house and she didn't sell it after renovating it.
They spend Christmas there and other holidays.
And to think that she owns a place in Toronto and a cabin on a private island on a beautiful lake!
She makes really good money and so does her husband!
Now that is my dream house.

15 Day Challenge: Day 12

What I believe: or what I hope is true

1) that a person gets wiser with age, even if it is just from experience alone.
2) that in general, people are good and decent but I also realize that there is pure evil in this world.
3) that we are all connected in someway and that there is a higher purpose
4) that the Universe or God or whatever you want to call it, is trying to teach us life lessons.  We just have to be willing to learn.
5) that things don't always seem to happen by chance, that sometimes it feels like things were suppose to happen that way.
6) now this one doesn't make sense with the above but I believe that people can be lucky or so it seems.
7) that sometimes people can bring bad luck or whatever you want to call it, to themselves by being constantly negative or focusing on the negative.
8) that when you are concerned about what other people think of you, that the reality is that they probably weren't even thinking about you!
9) that we have all become accustomed to a lazy lifestyle ( am totally guilty too), that we should value hard work and that to get something worth having, you should work hard to get to it.
10) that people don't value things when they get them for free.  And I am not talking about homeless people here because obviously they appreciate what they get.  I'm talking about for example, when parents pay for all of their children's post secondary and the kids never had to get a job to help pay for it.  Kids don't appreciate it the same as if they had to contribute.

15 Day Challenge: Day 10

Something that you are afraid of:

Isn't this a fun one!
Well besides the obvious, something happening to my family.
I would have to say that I am afraid of.....

1) scary movies,  I use to enjoy them but lately I find that I can't even watch 5 minutes and I'm freaked out.
2) messing my kids up, that I'm not doing enough or too much.
3) open caskets at a funeral, I know for some people it is a comfort and helps them grieve but for me I would rather remember the person like they were.  I don't want that to be my final memory.
4) getting in a car accident
5) when I have to pass a big truck on the highway, even on a divided highway, it freaks me out.
6) horses for some strange reason, it's not like something ever happened to me but they are just so big and I feel so small.  I think they are amazing animals and how much fun it would be to ride on one but I keep thinking about the fact that that horse could take me out!

15 Day Challenge: Day 6

This is Russell Watson singing Nessun dorma.  When he hits the high notes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.  We got to hear him live in Montreal when we were there for the Rotary International Convention.  There is nothing more amazing then hearing opera live.  He is quite the performer and I actually said to Brad that I think when angels sing they would sound like this.  Harper just loves him.  When we saw him in Montreal she actually got all dreamy eyed while he sang and she was so quiet.  The quietest she's ever been, I'm pretty sure!

So I would have to say that songs normally don't make me cry but there are songs that my body responds to.  Opera would be at the top of that list.  Now if you want to talk about movies that make me cry then I would have a BIG list!

15 Day Challenge: Day 5

Pictures of things that make me happy

Besides the pictures of my family, here is what I picked:

Christmas oranges!  And this box of them is delicious.

I love books and I really enjoy reading and learning.

Cookbooks.  I love looking at all the pictures and dreaming about awesome food.

Alexa's dance shoes from Ukrainian Dance.  They're so tiny and I'll always keep this first pair.

And I would say that fabric makes me happy but I didn't take a picture.  I would be embarrassed if you saw how much fabric that I have!  There is a slight fabric addiction going on.

15 Day Challenge: Day 3

Siblings and Parents

I hope none of them disown me for any of the pictures that I picked.
I thought they all looked good, it was late at night when I picked them and I was tired.
So if you (my family) doesn't like them, my excuse is that I was tired and pregnant!

My mom

My older sister Kara.  No one count the candles, she'll kill me!

My younger sister Kaitlyn

My Dad

My brother in law Nathan

But I also have another side of family, Brad's, so here goes....

Elain, my mommy in law

Barton my brother in law

Leroy my father in law playing the best game Monopoly Deal

So that is my immediate family.
Hope you enjoyed being introduced.

15 Day Challenge: Day 2

Something that stresses me out!

This one is kind of funny.
The thing that stresses me out the most is not being on time.
Or when other people are not on time.
And I'm married to someone who has a very flexible definition of what being on time is.
That is the political correct way of saying that!  LOL!
I always plan accordingly to make sure that I give myself the extra time.
As my sister is the same way, she says that if she isn't somewhere 10-15 minutes early then she is already late.  I am totally that way.
This obsession with time makes me crazy and usually everyone around me but I just can't help it.

The other thing that stresses me out is bad drivers!
Or really slow drivers!
And I am usually muttering under my breath and sometimes out.
I try to keep it under control with the kids in the van.
I think that the worst thing the kids have picked up is, "Stupid car, get going!"
Not the best but not the worst either.

I could probably think of more because I'm usually known for going on a rant but that would just stress me out!  Hahaha!  So two things are good enough for today.

15 Day Challenge: Day 1

So I am ripping this off of other people's blogs because I think that it is an awesome idea and I need ideas for blogging.
It is a 15 day challenge, so it should keep me busy for awhile.
Like I need anything else to keep me busy!

So here goes:

Day 1-Self portrait picture, and 15 interesting facts
Day 2- Something that stresses you out
Day 3- Your siblings and parents
Day 4- Something you're looking forward to
Day 5- pictures of things that make you happy
Day 6- A song that makes you cry and why

Day 7- Favorite movies
Day 8- A place you've traveled to
Day 9- Put your iPod on shuffle, first 10 songs
Day 10-Something you're afraid of
Day 11-Favorite tv shows
Day 12-What you believe
Day 13-Goals
Day 14-Some pictures you love
Day 15-Pictures of your dream house

This is the most recent picture of me other than the ones from Orlando.  But I don't think anyone wants to see me hot and sweaty from the heat so this is it.  Totally caught off guard with a weird smile.  Thanks hon!
15 Interesting Facts:
1: I have dated or have been married to the same person for the last 15 years.  I started to date my husband when we were in Grade 10, 15 years old we were!  We are definitely high school sweethearts.

2: I love to sleep.  Even when I've had a good nights sleep, I could have a nap.  I just like that cozy feeling.

3: I've always had a fascination with Mount Everest.  If someone could guarantee that I would make it to the top and back down without dying I would do it.  But I don't think it's possible so I might just have to settle for hiking to Base Camp sometime in my life.  When I am in better shape!

4: I have a horrible sweet-tooth.  I probably have something sweet everyday.  It's something that I would love to kick.  It really is like an addiction.

5: I love my van.  I don't know if I could go back to a car.  I like how high up I sit, I can see the road better.

6: I once came within 30 meters of a momma bear and her two cubs.  Totally freaked me out and now I'm a little scared to go hiking.  I had nightmares and everything.  This might affect me doing #3.

7: I thought I was overweight in high school.  I had really tiny girls in my class. I wasn't tiny but I wasn't big either. Boy, the things that you learn as you get older.  I wish I was that size again.  That was the slimmest I have been since graduating.
Why do girls always do that to themselves?

8: The best job that I ever had was a dishwasher in a fancy french restaurant.

9: The thing that I regret the most is that I didn't take the opportunity to learn more at the above (#8) when it was offered to me.  I thought I would mess something up or I'm just the dishwasher.  But that is not what the bosses thought.  I had an opportunity and I wasted it.

10: My dream job would be being a chef.  I am fascinated by everything about it.  I know it's a lot of hot work in a hot place but it feels like true work to me and it is becoming a lost art in a world that people would rather run to McDonald's than to cook something.  That was a really long sentence, sorry!

11: The thing that grosses me out the most is when people spit on the sidewalk.  There is nothing grosser than seeing a big spitball on the sidewalk.  I actually gag when I think about it.

12: I would love to run a marathon one day.  Crazy I know and if you knew me in school, you would laugh at this one because I am the worst runner ever.  I'm hoping that I can learn to run!

13: I get motion sickness in a vehicle or on rides.

14: Feet kind of gross me out.  And mine are always cold and sweaty at the same time.  Does that make any sense?!

15: I love living in Canada and I think we are the luckiest people ever but if I was going to live in another country I would live in England.  And my most favorite city that I have ever been to is Boston, Massachusetts.  Places with a lot of history, I am all for that.

When I started the 15 interesting facts I wasn't sure if I could finish it.  Once you get started though it just starts to flow out.  I'm interested about tomorrow.
